ACTIVITIES

Our core activity is the development, design, construction, financing and operation of medium to large-scale wind farm projects in Romania.
We possess all the skills and professional practice required to design, develop, build and operate a successful wind farm, from choosing sites and designing the project (for maximum power performance and minimum local impact), through the planning and consenting of a well functioning wind farm, which to generate power at the most competitive stage (including environmental assessment and financing), right up to the construction and operation.
- Scouting and site selection
Choosing appropriate sites involves the consideration of a range of issues. These include environmental and social aspects such as local planning policies, environmental designations and proximity to localities, and also technical, engineering and economic considerations such as wind speeds, land availability, grid connection and ease of access.
- Anemometric measurements and data analysis
Land Power, with the support of Erg Renew, has developed techniques for long term wind speed & energy yield prediction over the last 4 years. Long term wind climate predictions are carried out by Land Power by measuring wind speed and direction on site and correlating with a long term record of wind speeds.
- Land acquisition
Our real estate agents identify new markets, liaise with local partners, find potential sites, negotiate land rights and conclude land purchase agreements.
- Optimization and wind energy farm layouts
The turbine layout is optimized for energy yield, using special software, taking into account all environmental constraints and considering any constructional limitations. During the layout design process Land Power makes use of ERG Renew’s experts knowledge in the assessment of acoustic levels and possible interference with radars and antennas nearby, in order to protect the local environment and comply with the legal provisions in force.
- Financial structuring
Though traditional financial institutions are accepting less risk in today's uncertain international environment, wind power remains an interesting sector. Through sophisticated financial modeling and sensitivity analysis, we have achieved the most cost-effective financial structuring and project financing combinations. Our feasibility and asset valuation reports are highly respected as credible project assessment documents. We have established contacts with a vast network of investors, institutional funds and investment brokerage firms.
- Connection to grid
A wind farm can feed electricity into the national grid, so long as the grid connection complies with technical and safety requirements. Land Power’s projects comply with all these requirements, having signed a connection contract with Transelectrica, based on which Rahman 400/110 kV substation has already been built and commissioned.
- Selection of wind turbines
Good selection of wind turbine is critical to economic development of wind power, so that the design process for support structures (including site investigations), electrical system and grid connection can progress. Fro now, Land Power has chosen Vestas as provider for 2 MW turbines.
